Jesus Villamor Air Base, Pasay City – The Philippine Air Force (PAF) formally accepts the initial four (4) of the eight ( brand new multi-purpose combat utility helicopters as part of the P2.8B acquisition contract between the ARMED FORCES OF THE PHILIPPINES (AFP) and WYTWORINIA SPREZETU KOMUNIKACY JNEGO “”PZL-SWIDNIK”SPOLJA AKCY JNA in a simple ceremony held on March 9, 2012, from 8:00am to 12:00noon at the 410th Hangar, Air Force City, Clark, Pampanga. The arrival of these brand new CUH signals the near completion of the initial phase of the PAF’s Modernization Plan and people could expect more advanced aircraft acquisitions, apt for territorial defense, soon. In a press statement, PAF PIO Director Lt. Col. Miguel Ernesto G. Okol PAF (GSC) said that the continuation of the AFP Modernization Program is due “to the strong determination of our Defense Secretary Voltaire T. Gazmin, not to mention the solid commitment of HE President Benigno Aquino III — our Commander in Chief, to see a modernized Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) during his term.” Dubbed as “Back to Basics,” the first phase of the Modernization Program focuses on improving the AFP’s ability to conduct Internal Security Operations (ISO). Under this phase, the target acquisitions include eight ( combat utility helicopters, seven (7) attack helicopters, one (1) C-130 aircraft and a long-range patrol aircraft and 18 Basic Trainer Aircraft. Air Force Roulettes perform an aerial display over Perth’s world famous Cottesloe Beach.

The Royal Australian Airforce Roulettes add a splash of colour to Geraldton skies on their way to the 2012 Perth Air Show.

For the first time, an Army M1A1 Abrams tank has been flown on board a Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) C-17A Globemaster III transport. On May the 11th, the C-17A carried the Abrams from RAAF Base Darwin to the Capricornia region as part of Exercise Hamel, where it will participate with other Defence units in the Shoalwater Bay Field Training Area. The Abrams is carefully driven up the cargo ramp of the C-17A and restrained to the cargo floor in a precise position, allowing the aircraft to remain balanced in flight. The flight of the Abrams provides vital experience for Army and Air Force personnel, emphasises a key joint strategic capability for Defence. Photos at ra.af

On sunday point cook had the roulettes pay a visit for the WA trip to pearce airshow it was a good display but the rain held for the 15 min display but its poured like hell but still a good display i got to speak to R7 and he is a nice bloke i have now seen the Roulettes 6 times now all up well this year ive seen 5 or 4 planes but good to see all of them again well ENJOY
